Stereograms are 2D images that hide a 3D image inside. These images are created using a technique called stereopsis, which is the natural process by which our eyes perceive depth. However, it wasn't until the 20th century that stereograms became popular thanks to the work of Bela Julesz, a Hungarian scientist. Julesz created the first stereoscopic stereograms using computers, allowing previously unseen accuracy and visual quality.
