Der Wanderfalke ist die sprachgewaltige Liebeserklärung an eine Landschaft, die Baker - obgleich tausendfach beschrieben - aus neuer Perspektive zu zeigen vermag: Durch die Augen des Vogels wird uns England zur Wildnis.

Wie kaum ein anderes Buch feiert dieses Meisterwerk der literarischen Naturbeobachtung die unerschöpfliche Vitalität der Natur.
