Das Wort "Tepe" ist türkisch und bedeutet "Hügel, Anhöhe, Erhebung". So ist auch die Musik: Das Stück beginnt im Pianissimo, steigert sich ganz, ganz langsam zum Forte und kehrt wieder zum Pianissimo zurück.
