Der Ragtime gilt als Vorläufer des Jazz, ist aber im Gegensatz zu diesem durchkomponierte Musik. Der bedeutendste Ragtime-Komponist und Pianist war Scott Joplin, aber auch die anderen Kompositionen in diesem Heft können sich hören lassen. Die vorliegenden Bearbeitungen lassen sich sowohl solistisch als auch chorisch besetzen. Die Altflöte ist ad libitum, wird aber empfohlen, um dem Bass mehr Wirkung zu verleihen. Die Ausgabe verspricht allen Flöten-Ensembles ein hohes Maß an Spielfreude.
