Uncaught

The UncaughtA Retelling of Atalanta Abandoned as an infant on the slopes of a distant mountain, Atalanta should have died before her story ever began. Instead, she survives, raised by the wilderness and shaped by a world where strength, speed, and instinct matter more than blood or status.Years later, she has become a legend. Faster than any man who dares challenge her, skilled with a bow, and unwilling to surrender her freedom, Atalanta lives beyond the boundaries of ordinary society. To some, she is a wild woman. To others, a divine sign. To those who race her, she is simply the Uncaught.Far below the mountain, Hippomenes has grown up knowing what it means to come second. He is talented, ambitious, and determined to prove himself, but the expectations of his family and the burdens of his father's debts threaten to define his future. When he hears stories of the mysterious woman no man can outrun, curiosity becomes obsession.Their worlds are destined to collide. What begins as a legend becomes a race—and what appears to be a contest of speed soon becomes a struggle over freedom, destiny, desire, and the price of challenging the gods.Inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Atalanta and Hippomenes, The Uncaught reimagines a legendary story through the eyes of the people who lived it, exploring the woman behind the myth and the man who dared to pursue her.
