"e;Pan Tadeusz"e;, or completely - "e;Pan Tadeusz, or the last hit in Lithuania. The Noble History of 1811-1812 in Twelve Books, Written in Poetry "e;is the most significant work of Adam Mickiewicz, an epic poem written in 1832-1834 in Paris, where the poet lived in exile, and published there in 1834. The main characters of the poem, Tadeusz and Zosia, are representatives of two noble families competing with each other - Soplitsa and Goreshka. The poem from a romantic idyll (exemplified by Goethe's idyll "e;Herman and Dorothea"e;) grows into a broad epic picture that combines domestic, military, love and patriotic lines. The poem so truthfully and in detail reproduces the pictures of life, life and customs of the Polish and Lithuanian nobility (description of hunting, banquets, holidays, customs), that during the author's lifetime it was described as "e;Encyclopedia of Polish Life"e;. The great poet Maksym Tadeyovych Rylsky translated unsurpassedly into Ukrainian.
