Hans Fallada (1893-1947), eigentlich Rudolf Ditzen, war einer der wichtigsten Romanautoren deutscher Sprache im 20. Jahrhundert. Seine von der Neuen Sachlichkeit gepragten Werke handeln vom Leben der kleinen Leute in unwirtlichen Zeiten, ihrer Ratlosigkeit und Lebenstapferkeit. Romane wie Kleiner Mann - was nun? (1932) und Wer einmal aus dem Blechnapf frisst (1934) gehoren mittlerweile zu den literarischen Klassikern ihrer Zeit. Seitdem sein letzter, postum erschienener Roman Jeder stirbt fur sich allein in den USA unter dem Titel Alone in Berlin erschien und Furore machte, erlebt Fallada weltweit eine Renaissance. Das Bildmaterial der Printausgabe ist in diesem E-Book nicht enthalten.
