A forensic auditor who knows too much. A lethal former operator hired to keep her breathing. In a world of corporate crime and deep betrayal, trusting him might be her only hope of surviving. When forensic accountant Emma Stevens uncovers eighty-four million dollars in dirty wire transfers inside Vanguard Logistics, she thinks she's auditing a corporate tax fraud. The truth is far deadlier: she has just exposed a cartel front funding contract hits on federal prosecutors. Before Emma can take the encrypted master ledger to authorities, a professional tactical strike team breaches her firm. Slipping out into the freezing Boston rain with the drive in her coat and assassins behind her, she has nowhere left to hide.Marc "e;Colt"e; Thorne, an elite former Delta Force specialist now running high-risk details for Blackridge Security, lives by an absolute rule: Assets are missions, not people. There is only one bed in the storm—and an electric chemistry neither of them can afford to indulge. But Emma isn't just a witness waiting to be saved; she is sharp, defiant, and ready to stand her ground. When the hit team tracks them to the ridge, Colt and Emma must fight their way through the conspiracy before they are erased forever.Tropes & Themes:Bodyguard / Witness ProtectionForced Proximity & Only One BedFormer Delta Force / Lethal ProtectorBrainy, Resolute Heroine (Forensic Auditor)Sizzling Tension & High-Stakes ActionStandalone with HEA / HFN (First in the Blackridge Security Series)Guarding the Witness is a full-length, fast-paced romantic suspense packed with explosive danger, cartel intrigue, and an irresistible alpha hero.
