First Edition Fatality

When true crime writer Lila Hart inherits her grandmother's charming seaside bookshop, she expects a quick sale and a return to her career. Instead, she discovers a legacy of secrets that powerful people will kill to keep buried. Mockingbird Bay seems picture-perfect, with its quaint streets and friendly locals. But beneath the coastal charm lies a decades-old conspiracy connecting a missing grandfather, a murdered grandmother, and a valuable first edition novel that holds the key to both crimes. As Lila reluctantly teams up with the handsome but skeptical Sheriff Cooper Reid, she uncovers her grandmother's secret life as the town's unofficial detective. With help from eccentric bookshop assistant Violet and enthusiastic librarian Emily, Lila follows literary clues that lead to shocking revelations about the town's most prominent family. When history begins to repeat itself and Lila becomes the next target, she must solve the mystery before she becomes the final chapter in her family's tragic story. This is the first installment in the Bookmarked Mysteries series.
