Eight Weeks

Dental assistant Chloe Moore is stuck. She doesn't really know what she wants to do, or what direction to take. Even though she has a strong circle of friends and a decent job, Chloe has been stuck living under the thumb of her domineering father since her mother died years before. Her boring days are brightened when she becomes fascinated with a patient who has near-perfect teeth. Interested and curious, she has no clue that her latest patient finds her even more intriguing. A former German Intelligence agent, the man she knows as Randolph Dunne is actually a serial killer who tortures his victims to test their value for "e;advancing humanity"e; before murdering them and leaving antique German marbles in their mouths. A few days after meeting, Randolph abducts Chloe as she leaves on a solo vacation, leaving no one the wiser to her disappearance for days. "e;The German,"e; as he's known to the police and FBI, spends time beginning to forge a warped bond with the surprisingly resilient Chloe, who resists his regimen of drugs and hypnosis every way she can. Meanwhile, Ronald Grayson, a police detective who escaped The German's clutches three years before, is leading a manhunt to find Chloe. Over the next eight weeks, Detective Grayson and his team pore over the few leads they have, desperate to find her, knowing that every moment that passes, the chance of finding Chloe alive diminishes.
