Carter

She's his little brother's best friend, and he told her they could never happen, so why has Carter Garland spent the last nine years thinking about her? When Ash Cartwright met her best friend Kit at just four years old, she never expected to become a part of his family, but they all opened their arms and their homes to her and gave her the security she craved so much. Two decades later, she shares a son with Kit, but it's Carter she's loved since she was fourteen and avoided since he broke her heart eight years ago. Avoiding him was easy when he only came home for Christmas, but now he's moving home for good. When Ash finds herself in front of Carter, without the rest of the family there as a buffer, it's time to make a choice, clear the air and move forward as friends, or take a leap and see if they can fall together.
