Poetics has witnessed remarkable developments at the level of the scientific movement and modern critical studies, as it has seen an advancement in research and serious scientific inquiry. In recent years, it has received great attention from researchers and scholars, and studies and university theses have been devoted to it within the studies of ancient and modern literature. The concept of "e;poetics"e; or "e;poetics,"e; which has received great attention in the recent period, whether in Arab or foreign criticism, has ancient heritage roots and contemporary Western horizons. This use as an artificial source, not in the form of attribution, is what gives it its novelty and critical freshness. Otherwise, the word is common and banal. Since Aristotle, he has been talking about the true essence of poetry and what is confused with it in terms of imitation and imagination. A number of Arab critics have used it in this sense in the same form, such as Hazem al-Qartajani (d. 684 AH), and the commentators on Aristotle from the philosophers of Islam, such as al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Ibn Rushd. The term "e;poetics"e; emerged in modern Western criticism as a legitimate heir to structuralism and stylistics, returning them to the poetic function within linguistic discourse. This followed a period of heightened interest in previous approaches to the linguistic code and its origins-that is, language itself as a signifier, not merely as a means of conveying meaning. Several Arabic terms have been translated into this concept, such as "e;insha'iyya"e; (construction) and "e;adabiyya"e; (literature), among others. Poetics seeks to uncover the laws of literary discourse and the abstract characteristics that constitute the uniqueness of a literary work. In other words, it explores what makes a linguistic message a literary (poetic) work. Later, its meaning broadened to encompass the specific aesthetic sensibility arising from a poem or literary text. In other words, it refers to the work's capacity to awaken aesthetic feelings, evoke wonder, and create beauty through paradox and deviation from the norm.
