李必丰在小说中梦呓道：“你是鸟儿，你有生命，但是这世间别的东西同样有生命。比如那些我们犯人千幸万苦才从地下挖出来的煤炭，他们就有生命，每一次当我拿起一块煤炭时，我的心里就明白，我手里拿着的不仅只是煤炭，更重要的还在于它是一个生命，一个在地底的黑暗之中呆了上万年的生命。有人曾经问我为什么煤炭能够燃，其实这道理很简单，那不过是在黑暗之中囚禁了相当长的时间以后，一个可以发出火苗燃烧的生命向世界作出的证明。”
在众人看来是煤炭，在他看来是十分漫长的生命，这一写作信念，注定了李必丰文字的不朽，而这种不朽的文字，是在不断的逃跑和坐牢中留下的。所有作家和诗人都用脑子和手写作，唯有他用脚写作，如果有形的脚被锁起来，那无形的精神之脚就超越我们，在群星中闪烁、奔走。
如果不发生意外，李必丰应该在二零二一年深秋，五十七岁时出狱。而在一九八九年天安门大屠杀之际，他才二十五。当时台湾歌星侯德健讲述国民党败退老兵的《归去来兮》正在大陆流传：“归去来兮，青春已荒芜，离家的时候，他才二十五......”
无论狱内狱外，流亡非流亡，整整的两代人都荒芜，甚至虚无了。而当时，我在密集的枪声和惨叫中写了《大屠杀》，李必丰写了《地球比月亮更黑》。
亲爱的李疯子，你的天空还有翅膀吗？当我们老了；当共产独裁永远把我们分割；当你拼着最后的力气，去反抗，去记录；当等待你的仍然是手稿被查抄，如同你已经被查抄的几百万字手稿；当你再次以莫须有的经济罪入狱......远离亲人，奄奄一息，你的天空还有翅膀吗？
