When Princess Grace Got Sick, by Lindsay Landeche HarNess and Illustrated by Oksana Matiykiv, is a true-to-life children's experience book. We follow Princess Grace (a Labrador Retriever) through the challenges of feeling great one moment, to the scary feeling getting quite sick, to the fear of going to the doctor (no needles), to discovering what was wrong... also, the importance of taking all of her medicine, being patient about resting, and then finally getting better.

Most of all, we all experience the sheer joy of being lovingly cared for by her "best-friend/mum/owner" in the world, Carling. It is a story designed to help kids (and adults) process through those times when an unexpected illness, all the treatments that come with being sick, and primarily the HOPE that helps us when life gets turned upside down.

Of course, all while remaining positive and then sharing a very happy ending...

Author Lindsay Landeche HarNess, and her daughter Carling, and son Dillon, rescued "Princess Grace of Black-Star" for Carlings 16th birthday. The three of them raised Princess Grace to be a most loving, loyal, trusting, faithful, and definitely the most beautiful member of their family. Even when new people came to live with them, Princess Grace ensured they felt the truest love of their "pack". And when new dogs were rescued into the household, Princess Grace always showed them where to sleep, drink water, eat, find the treats, and, of course, the best places to go potty.
