Humans live in a world of vibrancy, nature and humanity walk as companions. Pulkita Anand highlights the tensions of the world we live in with the current environmental crisis which is also a human crisis. Her poetry speaks to the reality of human passion and emotion that exists alongside, and with, the natural world and how the best of human thought and emotion is often a byproduct of our relationship with the world we call home but are at risk of losing.

- Paul Krause, author and editor of VoegelinView.

Reviews:

'Pulkita masterfully demonstrates the intricacies of human emotion. She always finds the right words for every mood and scenario, bringing the reader along at every turn, which makes for a delightful journey.'

- Dr. Shamika Ann Mitchell (English faculty at Rockland Community College, State University of New York. Editor of WinC Magazine)

'Pulkita Anand draws on poetic language, strident call-outs, and mathematical equations to represent colonizers' violent extraction of natural resources and exploitation of people. The first piece of hers which we published in Synchronized Chaos, "All in Sleep" reflects the nihilistic destruction of a landscape that once held generations of species and memories. Other pieces, such as "Colours" illuminate the dislocation and loss of personal and cultural identity one endures when a foreign power steals one's land, and "Simple Maths" and "In the beginning there was a sigh" use short lines and broken thoughts to illustrate the harshness and disruption of oppression.

By not shying away from difficult themes, and by moving from language of elegant, flowing lament to harsh, jagged forms, we see the gut-punch of a loss that seems like ecological and cultural destruction for its own sake.'

- Cristina, Editor Synchronized Chaos
