Orlak the Undead, the most powerful and feared of all the vampires, was destroyed centuries ago in the Holy Land by a mysterious cult armed with spells, silver and stakes of whitethorn.

The acolytes of Orlak have been searching ever since for his last remains, intending to resurrect their master and bring order to the world: a vampire order driven by blood, lust and revenge.

Vampire-hunting monk Father Grigore has been tasked with finding the Unholy Relic before the acolytes do. He traces it to Wallachia in the last weeks of the year 1476, where two great armies stand poised to wipe the other out.

Caught between the Ottoman Empire and its brutal enemy, Vlad Ţepeş, Grigore must face the dreaded Vampire Celebrants on the blood-soaked battleground of insanity.

And there will be no remorse for whoever - or whatever - gets in the way.

Originally published as Cold Runs The Blood in 2013 by Grosvenor House Publishing, this tenth anniversary edition has been fully remounted and expanded to include brand new characters, scenes and chapters, as well as the complete novelette The Chamber of Kings.
