Jahrhundert, geprägt durch soziale Missstände, Konflikte und Kriminalität, kaum größer sein. Thomas Morus' Schilderung einer Reise zum Hort purer Harmonie war vor diesem Hintergrund auch nicht durchwegs ernst gemeint. Vielmehr kippt "Utopia" häufig ins Ironische, was den Roman zu einer noch heute ebenso anregenden wie sympathischen Lektüre macht.
