Le Croton mayumbensis J.Léonard. (Euphorbiaceae) est une plante poussant en République Centrafricaine, traditionnellement utilisée dans le traitement de plusieurs affections, et dont peu de travaux ont été rapportés selon notre étude bibliographique. Les feuilles et les écorces de cette plante sont utilisées par les tradipraticiens de la République Centrafricaine dans le traitement des infections microbiennes et parasitaires. Elle fait partie de la famille des Euphorbiacées et du genre Croton tous deux connus pour contenir des diterpčnes souvent toxiques. Nos travaux ont porté sur le fractionnement des extraits par différentes techniques de chromatographie telles que la chromatographie sur colonne et la chromatographie gazeuse couplée ŕ la spectrométrie de masse. Cette étude a permis d'identifier quatre composés majoritaires originaux appartenant ŕ la classe des furanoditerpčnes : ce sont trois furanoclérodanes et un furanolabdane. Ces composés correspondent ŕ une lactone diterpénique naturelle de la famille du néo-clérodane dénommée Centrafricine I ainsi qu'ŕ un furanolabdane, Centrafricine II et deux furanoclérodanes, Centrafricine III et Centrafricine IV.
