The USNP was a cooperative national effort among the states and the federal government to locate, catalog, and preserve on microfilm newspapers published in the United States from the eighteenth century to the present. Running until 2007, the USNP was an essential program of preserving journalism history as well as records of historical events. This book talks through the cataloging process in Pennsylvania as an example.
