In 1959, George Triffon, a young man with 20/20 vision and a promising future, was driving home from church when a car hit him from behind. It was just an ordinary car accident, and he was even able to drive himself home. A few weeks later, he noticed some small, dark spots in his vision, and that was the beginning of a long, devastating journey as he began to slowly lose his eyesight. He would spend the next several years traveling to different eye specialists and hospitals around the US, where he was subjected to a handful of painful ineffective procedures.
