Elias Thorne is a watchmaker and time distiller living in Black Rainfall, a city where time itself has become a physical resource. Hidden within the heavily guarded High Cathedral of Gears, the Prism contains the temporal anchor necessary for the Aeterna to bridge the Void Gap.But the truth is more dangerous than Elias expected. Restoring the Erased Day could overwrite everything that developed during the twenty years of its absence. The Grand Chronographer Vane, who has consumed centuries of stolen life, wants the Aeterna for himself and intends to turn it into a machine for extracting even more "Golden Time."As the Great Deluge intensifies and Black Rain begins destroying the city, Elias and Silane race toward the Aeterna. Elias is forced to choose between preserving the corrupted present and risking everything to restore what was lost.In the final confrontation, Elias activates the Aeterna and uses the Prism to reintegrate the Erased Day. The machine burns itself out, the Black Rain gives way to ordinary water, and natural time begins flowing again. The stolen temporal economy collapses, while the immortality enjoyed by the elite is finally called in as its debt comes due.Elias pays the ultimate price. His body has become saturated with the Black Time he harvested for years, and the restored world cannot carry him forward. As sunrise returns to a city that has forgotten what natural morning feels like, Elias sees the light he sacrificed everything to restore.
