Pip wasn't looking for an adventure.
He was simply wandering through the ancient forest when distant music, laughter, and the irresistible smell of warm bread led him somewhere wonderfully unexpected: the Great Picnic.
Hidden beneath an old oak, Pip is perfectly content to watch as colorful blankets fill the meadow, food passes freely from hand to hand, children invent games as they go, and strangers make room for one another without ever being asked.
But Pip has never been very good at staying outside a mystery for long.
A dropped bundle, a mysterious blue flower, a shimmering butterfly, runaway games, determined pies, and one very curious Pip slowly turn watching into participating. Before long, Pip finds himself swept into the celebration, usually without quite understanding how he got there.
