The First Crossing

When Rowan activates the lattice beneath the Briar Hollow Museum of the Unseen, he believes he is stabilizing a fracture.

The experiment carves a corridor through reality during a peak pulse cycle, and Evelyn-long believed dead-steps fully through. She returns altered, her eyes reflecting inverted constellations and her shadow branching into antlered geometry that does not belong to this world. But she is not possessed. She is something far more dangerous: a survivor who rewrote the crossing from the inside.

As gravity pockets tear through Briar Hollow and townsfolk become living conduits for a cosmic force known as the Witness, Rowan and his girlfriend Maeve must decide whether to collapse the portal-risking permanent destruction-or confront what has marked Evelyn as its anchor.

When the first physical possession erupts in blood and bone, the fracture spreads beyond containment. The portal may close, but the geometry remains embedded in the foundation of the town itself.
