Mais au contraire, García Schnetzer ne fait rien d'autre que de s'inspirer du style de l'evanescent Macedonio Fernández, et à partir des anecdotes borgésiennes, il a construit une figure plus attachante, plus spirituelle, plus généreuse que l'original historique. Ce petit livre de moins de cent pages est un parfait délice, héritier des inventions biographiques de Pío Baroja et de Marcel Schwob. (Alberto MANGUEL)
