Es wird begründet, warum dieses Faktum ein permanentes Gefährdungspotential unserer Demokratie darstellt. Dennoch wird dieses Phänomen im öffentlichen Diskurs ignoriert. Es werden Ursachen analysiert, die erklären können, warum diese Problemverdrängung des attitudinalen Rechtsextremismus funktioniert und daraus Konsequenzen für eine präventionsbezogene Bekämpfung des Rechtsextremismus abgeleitet.
