Der Künstler Otto Blanck wurde am 4. März 1912 im damaligen Rüstringen, jetzt Wilhelmshaven, im Stadtteil Siebetsburg als Sohn des Schiffszimmermanns Wilhelm Blanck und dessen Ehefrau Annchen Blanck, geb. Röben, geboren. Sein weiterer Lebensweg führte ihn, der u.a. als Ausgrabungszeichner der Provinzialstelle für Marschen- und Wurtenforschung gearbeitet hatte, heraus aus Wilhelmshaven. Nach der Kriegsgefangenschaft in Tunesien und Frankreich ließ er sich als Malermeister in Oldenburg nieder. Als langjähriges Mitglied des bbk starb Otto Blanck in Oldenburg im Jahre 1982.
