Wurzeln die weit verbreiteten Osterbräuche in heidnischen Ritualen?§Die Antworten auf diese Fragen sind auch in der Wissenschaft umstritten, Glauben und Tatsachen oft kaum auseinander zu halten. Deshalb wurden in diesem Buch alle erreichbaren Quellen zusammengetragen und erläutert, so dass der Leser sich selbst ein Urteil bilden kann.§Der Autor hat sich auf die Suche gemacht nach alten Texten, die möglicherweise bestätigen könnten, dass eine Göttin Ostara auf dem europäischen Festland verehrt wurde, ebenso wie eine Eostre in Brittanien, über die Beda, englischer Mönch und Historiker des 7. Jahrhunderts, schreibt und von der das englische "Easter" stammen soll. Das Bindeglied wären dann die Sachsen, die vom Festland nach England ausgewandert sind. Es wird aber den Lesern überlassen abzuwägen, ob es in Deutschland auf Grund der Quellenlage Ostara, Ostera oder Eostar als Pendant zur englischen Eostre gibt.
