On the Balcony: Bilingual Latin American Spanish-English Stories for Kids is part of a 52-story reading system, designed to help children build confidence in Spanish through engaging stories rather than memorisation, drills, or isolated vocabulary lists.

In this collection of four connected stories, Mateo and his friends welcome a new family to the neighbourhood. Valentina arrives with her own memories and slowly begins to discover the streets, people and small surprises of her new home. A sudden rainstorm, three missing flowerpots and a mysterious night of lanterns bring the children together as they explore friendship, community and what it means to feel at home.

Written in accessible Latin American Spanish for B1 learners, the stories gradually introduce longer sentences, richer descriptions, mixed tenses and more natural narrative language. Familiar vocabulary is carefully recycled while new words and expressions appear naturally through context.
