Die Autorin fragt nach den Gründen der gescheiterten Integration von Migranten in einer deutschen Kommune und bezieht sich dabei auf die Theorie "Etablierte und Außenseiter" von Norbert Elias. Eine Kleinstadt in Niedersachsen stellt ein empirisches Beispiel für die Untersuchung dar. Anhand des Eliasschen Modells wird die Dynamik der Integrationsprozesse in der Kleinstadt B. diskutiert.
