El autor vuelve, en la historia que da título al libro, a la postguerra que retrató en Barrio y examina las amistadesque forjó la necesidad. Luego, en «Julianito» avanza hasta casi laépoca de las agencias de Los Profesionales y, mediante la historia deun moroso, propone una paradoja sobre la integridad. A ese periodo seacerca también «Nostradamus», que en tono tragicómico trata de lasservidumbres del trabajo antepuestas a la ingenuidad del dibujanteprimerizo. El arco temporal del álbum alcanza, con «Crepúsculo», lospaisajes morales de Romances de andar por casa y Sabor a menta, eneste caso, la llama de una vieja pasión toma formas muy inesperadas yno por ello despreciables. Con esta nueva entrega de su obra, Giméneznos recuerda que las grandes historias nunca terminan y que losmejores personajes permanecen para siempre en nuestra memoria.
