Der zweite fundamentale Unterschied ist das Gesangstraining an sich. Die phonologischen Merkmale der koreanischen traditionellen Gesangskunst und die davon abhängige musikalische Tradition führen dazu, dass viele alteingesessene Pädagogen ihren Schülern eine für die Interpretation einer europäischen Oper, falsche Gesangstechnik vermitteln. Im konkreten Fall ist bei koreanischen Sängern vermehrt ein starkes Vibrato zu hören, welches dadurch entsteht, dass die koreanische Sprachmelodie sehr monoton verläuft und beim Gebrauch des Koreanischen die Stimmbänder überdurchschnittlich mehr beansprucht werden als beispielsweise beim Gebrauch des Deutschen. Das ist auch der Grund, warum bei den meisten traditionell koreanischen Liedsängern ein starkes Vibrato mit einem überdurchschnittlich großen Einsatz der Stimmbänder zu hören ist.
