The focus of this book is to consider ceramics used in biomedical applications, now generally referred to as bioceramics and their applications in the repair and reconstruction of diseased or damaged body parts. Most clinical applications of bioceramics relate to the repair of the skeletal system, comprising bone, joints, and teeth, and to augment both hard and soft tissue.
