Die vorliegenden Abhandlungen bemühen sich um die Klärung zentraler Probleme des politischen Denkens Max Webers, insbesondere die Rolle politischer Führerschaft in einer bürokratischen Gesellschaft, darüber hinaus aber um die Ausleuchtung des universalgeschichtlichen Kontextes, von dem her diese ihre eigentliche Bedeutung gewinnen. Dabei wird Webers von einem aristokratischen Individualismus getragene liberale Weltanschauung herausgearbeitet und die Alternative seiner Position zu jener von Karl Marx systematisch dargestellt.
