Life's Journey

Have you ever listened to the song lyrics and wondered what the back story was? Have you asked what happened and why? Wondered what drove those lyrics? So have I. These stories imagine the answers to the questions of how and why.

Rhapsody:

This is the story of a young man's encounter with an illness he cannot escape. From youthful exuberance to cruel indifference and denial, until finally a resigned acceptance of the inevitable. Offering a brief glimpse into his thoughts and feelings, as he struggles with an unwanted reality, and the guilt that pulls him down. He travels the highs and lows of life's journey to discover his fate, and a judgement of his own making.

Incident at the Copa:

It was 1946 and America was bringing home her sons and daughters from war. While everyone celebrated, pre-war attitudes quickly reasserted themselves, sending women home from the factories. This is a story of a young woman who, upon finding her job prospects limited, decides to chance a new opportunity for success and independence. It's a story of triumph and tragedy at the soon to be famous Copacabana night club.

Life's Journey:

It was love that brought them together, nourishing them, leaving its mark. And it was their devotion to each other that drove them apart. She wanted to make him better. He wanted to make her happy. From those giddy days in the beginning, to misinterpretation and a failure of understanding, leading to inevitable unfair endings. It's life's journey, where Cupid's arrow takes its toll.
