The town of Lake City, Tennessee was no different than any other small southern town on Friday nights. For 39 years Lake City and its surrounding communities had a love affair with its high school football team, the Lake City Lakers. The Lakers won 10 Conference Championships, played in 9 bowl games, 2 state playoff games, and amassed an overall record of 201 wins, 146 losses and 15 ties. They represented their town and communities with pride and gutsy determintation. Almost always under-sized, they earned the love of the community, the students, and their fans. This is their story.
