Korbinian Aigner (1885-1966) war ein oberbayerischer Landpfarrer, ein herausragender Obstkundler und ein aufmerksamer Zeitgenosse, der seine regimekritischen Äußerungen mit Gefängnis- und KZ-Haft bezahlte. Berühmt wurde er nach seinem Tod durch seine Obstbildersammlung: fast 900 postkartengroße Aquarelle mit Apfel- und Birnenbildern. Seit ihrer Ausstellung bei der dOCUMENTA(13) ist diese Sammlung weit über pomologische Fachkreise hinaus bekannt geworden. Er vermachte die Bilder der Technischen Universität München; heute gehören sie zu den wertvollsten Beständen des TUM.Archivs. Peter J. Brenner, Direktor des TUM.Archivs, gibt hier erstmals eine zusammenfassende Würdigung von Leben, Werk und Wirkungsgeschichte Korbinian Aigners in den zeitgeschichtlichen Zusammenhängen.
