Dieses Verfahren ersetzt die auf wenige Pinselstriche reduzierten Zeichen der Chinesen und Japaner durch figürlichere und damit ohne weiteres "lesbare" Icons. Daraus resultieren oft überraschende, zum Teil witzige, aber auch beachtliche Einsichten in eine hoch kultivierte Kombinatorik von Piktogrammen, die alle nur denkbaren Begriffe zu visualisieren versteht. Angesprochen wird ein grundlegendes Interesse an der chinesischen Schrift, Kultur und Geschichte, aber auch der Versuch einer sprachanalogen Weiterentwicklung heutiger Piktogramm-Systeme und Icon-Vokabulare.
