I originally wrote and illustrated this book in sixth grade for my English class. The assignment was to create a book in the style of Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham about something that we didn't like. At the time I hadn't, in fact, tried escargot. That said, I knew what it was and felt confident that I wouldn't like it. Years later, I actually did have the opportunity to give it a try and was quite relieved to find that no retraction was necessary. It was like eating dirt-infused rubber from the sole of someone's shoe, and I wholeheartedly endorse the title of this book, I Do Not Like Escargot.
