In this phase, a laboratory-scale microgrid was expanded to include: 1) Two emulated distributed resources; 2) Static switchgear to allow rapid disconnection and reconnection; 3) Electronic synchronizing circuitry to enable transient-free grid interconnection; 4) Control software for dynamically varying the frequency and voltage controller structures; and 5) Power measurement instrumentation for capturing transient waveforms at the interconnect during switching events.
