Originaire de Kotokeino en Norvège et fille d’éleveurs de rennes, Sara Margrethe Oskal a éprouvé le besoin de briser les codes en écrivant sur les sentiments.
Inspirée par l’art du chant sacré – joik – et les contes racontés par sa mère, c’est dans le genre poétique qu’elle exprime son tiraillement entre sa révolte contre le poids des traditions et la fierté d’appartenir à un peuple ancestral.

Ce recueil de poèmes,
traduit du sâme du Nord par Guillaume Gibert,
a été nominé au Prix de Littérature du Nordic Council.
Il est illustré par Claude Gaisne.
