Richard Chojnacki, aka Stosh, would like to change the world; Paul Moret wants nothing more than to survive in it. After losing his wife to cancer, and subsequently becoming engaged to a Filipino who deserts him shortly after arriving in America, Moret ends up on Ward Three at Brightmore Hospital where he meets and befriends Stosh, a child of the sixties and now an aging hippie and would-be author. Together the two men come to an understanding.
