Double Shot

Cam Reyes has one chance to save her late aunt's café.

Unfortunately, her plan involves an unlicensed Safe Zone, a temperamental espresso machine named La Bestia, and absolutely no permission from the Rainier Compact.

Then an auditor walks through the door.

Theo Brandt is supposed to assess the illegal node, file his report, and shut the place down. He doesn't expect the café's dormant stone to wake beneath his hand-or to bind him and Cam as co-keepers. Now neither of them can leave without collapsing the only Safe Zone on the block.

Working together would be easier if Cam didn't see Theo as everything threatening her aunt's legacy. Or if Theo hadn't spent three years enforcing rules he no longer believes in. Or if the System would stop announcing their rising Synergy score in front of the morning rush.

With the Compact closing in, Cam and Theo must find a way to stabilize the café before it's taken from them. But every shared shift, reluctant confession, and dangerously convincing kiss strengthens a connection neither of them authorized-and La Bestia still wants Theo dead.
