Thirty years ago, Claire Vale's eight-year-old sister vanished on Halloween.

Claire returns to Morrowfield with her eleven-year-old daughter, Wren, to empty their dead mother's house before Halloween ends. The girl at the door wears Lila's handmade moth costume, carries her dented orange candy pail, and knows what only Lila could know.
