Die Tatsache, daß in der Fotoliteratur immer wieder unvollständige und z.T. falsche Informationen zum Thema Lochkamera geliefert werden, war Anstoß zum Schreiben dieses Buches. Die Beschreibung des Abbildungsvorgangs durch eine Lochkamera ist nicht, wie allgemein vermutet, trivial. Um das Thema einigermaßen korrekt beschreiben zu können, bedarf es einiger Mathematk. Durch ausführliche Beschreibungen und mit Hilfe vieler Grafiken ist aber eine gute Verständlichkeit gegeben. Tabellen fassen die wichtigsten Ergebnisse zusammen, so daß eine Lochkamera mit optimalen Abbildungseigenschaften hergestellt werden kann. Zum Bau einer Kamera, insbesondere der Blendenöffnung, werden praktische Hinweise gegeben.
