Sie spiegelt Przybyszewskis Interesse wider für die "rätselhafte, geheimnisvolle Manifestation der Seele mit all ihren Begleiterscheinungen, dem Fieber, der Vision, den sogenannten psychotischen Zuständen" und weist zahlreiche Charakteristika der europäischen Décadence-Literatur auf.
