This book focuses on electrocatalysis based on chalcogenides, particularly in the nanoscale domain. Particular attention is paid to the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). In particular, the book provides an introduction to materials synthesis, basic principles of electrocatalysis, associating precious versus non-precious catalytic center chalcogenides as well as supports, and the role of such supports to stabilize the catalytic centers.
