Unusual and severe seismic activity has begun to rip apart Avaria from inside. The rock is being poisoned, and it's not only affecting the creatures living under the planet's crust, but it's causing Avaria's Singer to feel intense pain. Ellie Evans, a teenage girl on the cusp of becoming something so much more than she ever dreamed, has been Avaria's Singer for a few years. She's manipulated her energy through music to achieve feats she never imagined possible back on Earth.

As she finally begins to learn something she's wanted since arriving in Avaria, she and Bendrith find themselves tasked with their most difficult challenge yet. They must gather Singers from every continent on Ur to face the ultimate destructive power in the Universe, and one that's out for revenge after being defeated by Ellie and her Celestial, Bendrith.

Meanwhile, something is going wrong with the Grand Celestial, Fomalhaut. Going against protocol, the Farseer takes Eddie the werewolf on a trek through Liminal Space to discover Fomalhaut's secret.

Unless the Singers and Celestials of Ur can come together to defeat the malevolent creature out to destroy them, the fate of Avaria and the rest of Ur may disappear forever.
