Café Europa pripada publicističkoj trilogiji koju čine knjige Kako smo preživjeli komunizam i čak se smijali , Balkan-express i Café Europa , a zaokupljene su iskustvom života u komunizmu ( Kako smo preživjeli komunizam i čak se smijali ), iskustvom života u ratu ( Balkan-express ) i života u postkomunističkim, tranzicijskim zemljama ( Café Europa ).
