Breaking Ramsey

Driven out of her home state of New York by an abusive ex-boyfriend, River Thomas flees with nothing but her dog, Blaze, plus whatever she could fit in the back of her car. She doesn't stop until she's halfway across the country in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where she finds herself without a job, and without hope.

A sign in a window points her towards a woman searching for a farmhand to care for her brother's horse, Ramsey -- a beautiful black Fresian with knowing brown eyes and a picky disposition. There's only one catch: for two weeks out of every month she must leave her newfound apartment and stay on the farm.
