Everything in author Shirley Luckadoo's life seemed perfect: loving husband, three adorable boys, successful careers, and a comfortable lifestyle. But underneath the facade was a debilitating addiction to alcohol that threatened to destroy Shirley, Gerry, and their family.Years later, God enabled them to leave their addiction. As co-founder of Trading Ford Baptist Church's Celebrate Recovery ministry as well as Capstone Recovery Center and Hope House of Rowan, she ministers to women recovering from substance abuse. A teacher at heart, she often leads Bible studies and speaks at local churches. Despite losing her husband to illness and her grandson to a tragic accident, she still enjoys the "abundant life" on High Rock Lake with her three sons, their wives, and her four grandchildren who live nearby.
